My amazement on the Anniversary of 9/11

Today, a student of mine, an immigrant from South Africa, was sharing how he felt during the 9/11 tragedy...and mind you, these students were between 4 and 6 years old at the time of the event. He started to say that he felt a little guilty, because he was a foreigner and at the time, foreigners were responsible. As he explained, he told us all, a captive audience, that he had been living in America for two years when the incident happened, and was sure, as a small child, that he knew why the attack happened; since America was so great, the people who did this horrible thing just had to be jealous.

That is my sharing for today. So many implications in what he said.
